Update after our pre-construction meeting

They are staking out our site next week, and we should close in late May or early June.  So excited that the building process is actually going to start!
Our property manager (PM) seems great.  Really experienced, really nice guy.  He went through all the options we had chosen and made sure everything was right.  We realized that we had forgotten to put any kind of lighting at all in one of the rooms, oops!  So we filled out a change order to fix that with a ceiling fan rough in. We also added a few recessed lights in the master bedroom that we should have put in when we picked our options the first time, but with all the decisions being made we didn't think of it.
Our house is actually the mirror image of the model, so I was trying to imagine everything backwards.  The PM made it easier by showing us a mostly built house across the street from where ours will be that has the same orientation. I was a smidge jealous that they were so close to closing!
We also met a few of the neighbors, who all seem so nice. We met some people who will have their house at the same time we do, and other people who already have moved in.  Everyone seems excited about their homes and has good things to say about the sales rep (SR) and PM, which is good to hear since we are still in the beginning of the process.

Here are some of the options we chose:

Carpet (bedrooms, stairs, part of the living room): Coastal Sand
Kitchen Vinyl flooring: Initiator

Bathroom Granite and Cabinet:

Our kitchen cabinets will be the same as the model, and our granite similar:

And here is the stain for our handrails on the stairs (the middle one):

I wish we could pick cabinets that were flat panel to look more contemporary, but it sounds like it's too big of a modification for them to do.  Oh well.... it will still look lovely.
